In recent video pieces, I am exploring states of loneliness and isolation resulting from experiences that convey insignificance within a modern post-industrial society. Each piece considers different aspects of contemporary remoteness. In addition to exploring ideas of loneliness, I am fascinated by the inevitable distortion, fabrication and simplification of value structures and renderings of past realities within a culture.
My work has been exhibited national and internationally, including work recently included at the File 2009 Rio – Electronic Language International Festival, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; the Bridge Art Fairs in Miami Beach and New York by Gardenfresh Gallery; and Salaisons Gallery, Romanville, Paris, France. I am also co-organizer with Natalya Pinchuk of Ugly Objects (uglyobjects.com) and Dreaming Youngstown (dreamingyoungstown.com).
